The Section Physical
Sciences of the Department S.A.I.F.E.T. (at Polytechnic University of Marche) is an academic
Institution, devoted to research and educational activities.
About 20 people are employed in the Section. The main research activities concern applied and fundamental research in the field of non-destructive investigations of materials (concerning both condensed and soft matter) by using Neutron and X-ray diffraction, neutron and X-ray radiography, Small Angle Neutron and X-ray Scattering and reflectometry, also with the support of other techniques such as Electron Microscopy and Atomic Force Microscopy. The Section has a large esperience in the analisys of the microstructural properties of bones and regenerated tissues by means of X-ray microdiffraction and microtomography. This group has taken part to more than 35 European Projects. |
